Katie Goodman-Thomas, OD

Dr. Katie Goodman-Thomas joined Carlinville Eye Care P.C. in 2011 after graduating from Illinois College of Optometry (ICO). Before ICO, she attended Western Illinois University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a double minor in chemistry and psychology. Dr. Katie is a member of the Illinois and American Optometric Associations. Locally she is a member of the Lions Club, Carlinville Public School Foundation, and Carlinville Area Hospital Foundation Board. Dr. Katie practices full scope optometry, including routine eye exams, diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, contact lens fitting and post operative eye care. She likes the relaxed atmosphere at Carlinville Eye Care and working with the fun and ambitious staff. In addition, she says that her wonderful patients make her job a pleasure!

Dr. Katie, her husband Chris, and their children reside in Carlinville. Dr. Katie grew up in Carlinville. When she isn’t working you can find her spending time with her family and friends, going to exercise classes, traveling, and shopping!

Samantha Simons, OD

Dr. Samantha Simons joined Carlinville Eye Care P.C. in 2023 after graduating from the University of Missouri St. Louis, obtaining her Doctorate in Optometry. Before optometry school, Dr. Sami attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology. She is a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Sami provides complete eye care including routine eye exams, treatment of eye diseases, contact lens fitting, and pediatric eye examinations. She is passionate about helping others improve the quality of their vision and is pleased to be back in her hometown providing eye care services to those in and around the community.

Dr. Sami grew up in Carlinville but currently resides in Shipman, IL. When she is not at the office working you can find her gardening, spending time outdoors, and bonding with family and friends!
